Necklace - One Inch Ruler

This minimalist pendant is both practical, and pretty. Designed for crafters who regularly measure their work. A magnetic clasp makes this piece easy to take on and off as you measure seam allowances, knitting progress, or check gauge. 

The ruler portion of this necklace is calibrated to 1 inch. Wood is untreated basswood. Clasp, chain, and all findings are stainless steel. 

Stainless steel components are resistant to rust, oxidation, and discoloration. Due to its corrosion resistance it is ideal for long-lasting low maintenance jewelry. This also makes it fantastic for high humidity conditions, high moisture (such as swimming or showering), or high heat, which can often exaggerate skin reactions, cause the piece to rust, or make your skin green. Since it is unplated it will not fade or chip over time. Stainless steel components can endure heavier wear for longer than other softer base metals (though they are still flexible to work with and with enough force can bend). Since stainless steel is unplated and a tightly bound metal it is excellent for people with skin allergies and sensitivity to base metals such as copper, brass, and even nickel. While stainless steel can contain some nickel it is believed to be bound so tightly that the nickel cannot react with your skin and is considered hypoallergenic for most people. 316L Stainless steel is often used for this reason for earrings.
